When the Villains are Beautiful

It’s almost September, which means the last vestiges of summer of here. It’s not quite time to go full on Pumpkin Spice Latte, but rather, we find ourselves in the in-between season.

Whether you are aching for the fiery hues of Autumn, or refusing to let go of beachy days and flip flops, here are some must have looks to seamlessly transition from summer to fall and looking as chic as ever.

Midi Skirts

“August rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time.” – Sylvia Plath

Midi skirts are a fabulous option, since they allow for an easy-breezy option with scrappy sandals and a tee, but also will carry you into cooler weather with a sweater and loafers.  They’re easy to dress up or down, and ultimately provide you with endless options.

Here are some great skirt options:

J. Crew Factory

Banana Republic

Layering Items

“I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.” — Henry David Thoreau

Layering pieces are brilliant; they provide depth, contrast, warmth, and texture to any look.

However, these items aren’t just about aesthetics, they’re absolutely practical — providing some extra warmth and comfort to any ensemble.

Here are some fabulous options:

Cable Knit Tank

Essential Blazer

Squared Neck Cardigan

“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” – John Steinbeck.

No outfit is complete without the perfect pair of shoes.

While flip flops might be out and boots a bit premature, there are still plenty of options to choose from.

Here are some of our favorites:

Everyday Sneakers
